i recently purchased an NL2511CD aka EN2511CD from netgate.com and i'm
having troubles getting it to work with the latest hostap-2002-10-12 code.
i've already had this laptop working as an AP with a linksys WPC11 prism2
card, so i think i've got the basics covered. i can also get the NL2511CD
to work in a win2k laptop as a client, so i think the hardware works.
the NL2511CD has these firmware revs: (i've tried a bunch of others i
found on the net)
Dec 2 20:57:13 mewlark kernel: wlan0: NIC: id=0x800c v1.0.0
Dec 2 20:57:13 mewlark kernel: wlan0: PRI: id=0x15 v1.1.0
Dec 2 20:57:13 mewlark kernel: wlan0: STA: id=0x1f v1.4.9
hostap doesn't complain about anything... but i can't associate with it.
here's some attempts by my cisco350 to associate:
Dec 2 20:57:23 mewlark kernel: wlan0: 00:40:96:5a:5d:ce auth (alg=0 trans#=1 stat=0 len=6fc=00b0) ==> 0 (authenticated)
Dec 2 20:57:23 mewlark kernel: wlan0: 00:40:96:5a:5d:ce reassoc (len=32 prev_ap=00:03:2f:02:97:46) => 0(0) (OK, new AID)
those go on for a while, but the cisco never manages to associate.
(i tried a WPC11 as well, no luck either.)
i find this suspicious:
Socket 0:
product info: "INTERSIL", "HFA384x/IEEE", "Version 01.02", ""
manfid: 0x0156, 0x0002
function: 6 (network)
Socket 0:
3.3V 16-bit PC Card
function 0: [ready]
those look like identifiers for a prism2 card but this one should
be a prism2.5.
any tips?
