Hi Dan

Thanks fro the input.

The mode=flashaudio, iphone returns an error 'No specidied modes available' and Im asked to try flashaaclow, rtspaaclow, wma .
So I try again and the INFO tells me that flashaaclo1w,wma1 will be tried for the version default. Soit does seem not possible to force MP3 mode.

I also see a message
WARNING: Your version of flvstreamer/rtmpdump does not support SWF verification (FLVstreamer v1.9).

a file with type default.partial.aac.flv is then downloaded and FFmpeg tries and fails to convert this (file has Unknown format). The flv file is retained.

All this on Ubuntu 10.04.

Any ideas?

On Wed, Sep 15, 2010 at 2:26 PM, Dan Ashby <dan@slickpepper.co.uk> wrote:
Not everything comes out in iphone format, hence the use of flashaudio.

I stopped using flvstreamer and went over the rtmpdump and this helped with some download problems I was having. See some earlier posts on this problem:

.partial.flv is the default file extension before the file is finished downloading. flv is a flash container that ffmpeg typically dumps the audio / video stream from when the download is finished.
I would like to have MP3 format for all files that I download from BBC
radio
With the option --modes one can select the type of file for the download
of a radio program.
I have version 2.78 and I am limited to files in aac or wma using the
--modes option. However today I tried to download a Steve Wright BBC2
program
and by mistake I downloaded another BBC program and this arrived as MP3.
What decides the type of output for the file, is it the host or can I
force something on my side?

Also when trying to download a program of more than 1 hour get_iplayer
stops and this is a regular occurrence. The downloaded program file is
then something like
...default.partial.aac.flv .

Can someone explain what is happening and what I can do to force MP3
download and ensure that whole programs are downloaded.

Many thanks for your help
