WARNING: Failed to download URL (3/3)

I use get_iplayer almost exclusively for downloading things from BBC radio
and sounds.

For the last couple of days I'm getting responses like these:

WARNING: Failed to download URL (3/3):
https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m002ym26/ad
WARNING: Response: 500 Can't connect to www.bbc.co.uk:443 (Bad file
descriptor)
WARNING: Ignore this warning if programme download is successful


And nothing is downloading.

Any ideas?
