FWIW, I VPNed to New Zealand (I'm in the UK) and tried the World Service 
in a browser - worked fine.

I believe all/nearly all radio stations podcasts should work either in 
the Sounds app or web site regardless of country, just at a slightly 
lower audio bit rate, you'll be served the "nonuk" streams.
