an interesting question about get_iplayer and converting files

hi all,
hope you are all well.
here's my question,
I hope it makes sence
so I download as an exammple the latest programme by jim davis and convert it to the opus format the file is left in the location that get_iplayer has downloaded the programme, when I go and run pvr, it starts redownloading the programme even when the programme has been downloaded and saved in the download history.
is there any way of makeing get_iplayer check download history and not redownload the programme?
a blacklist type of thing?
if in download history, don't download even if file is converted to another format?
could this be a toggle type of setting?
I hope my question makes sence?
