Unless you intend to pop off very shortly and "long" is > 5 years I wouldn't
like to be on it. TV Production is moving to UHD, a facilities company
building someting now will be UHD if they have any sense. 4k services are
available online from the likes of Netflix, Amazon, BT (in the UK).

Over a V42bis connection would be a bit silly and take a while but it's not
that long ago that I'd start a download at bedtime and it might have
completed by the next evening over such a connection.
And *that* is the problem. To shift gigabytes of data in a sensible amount
of time you need a fast connection, that is a few 10's of Mbps. That sort of
speed just isn't available in many places, this place included with < 5 MBps
ADSL+. The new 50fps iPlayer downloads at not much quicker than realtime...
