I am still at GiP 3.01, but I did fetch 3.02 just now to try this myself...
I can confirm I can dupe this with a radio pid NOT IN THE CACHE:
perl get_iplayer-302w.pl --type=radio --pid=b08xz0md -i =>
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

GiP 3.01 works as expected:
perl get_iplayer-301w.pl --type=radio --pid=b08xz0md -i =>
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
get_iplayer 3.01-windows.0, Copyright (C) 2008-2010 Phil Lewis

And audio/video clips will never populate
the respective caches, this looks like a
serious regression, possibly introduced by
https://github.com/get-iplayer/get_iplayer/commit/554bb64
But before blaming the developer,
I must say I am running an unsupported
custom Windows installation on an unsupported
Windows OS, so first thing to do is
for other members to check whether -i
works with GiP 3.02 on non-indexed PIDs;
if affirmative, then @tellyaddict should
report this in the Forums, to be hopefully
fixed...
Cheers,
Vangelis.
