The above is where I got stuck. I got the response:
'ffmpeg' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable
program or batch file
I was pasting the command in a DOS box, initially in the get_iplayer
folder, then in the subfolder in which ffmpeg.exe resides.

On my Windows XP machine the ffmpeg folder is at-
"C:\Program Files\get_iplayer\FFmpeg\ffmpeg-2.2.3-win32-static\bin"
Perhaps Alan only drilled down as far as "C:\Program
Files\get_iplayer\FFmpeg"
seems unlikely I know given that he managed to follow Vangelis's
instructions to the point
of actually trying the command, but its sometimes the simplest of things
that get missed.
Given that it found the word OK, as in 'ffmpeg' is not recognized as an
internal or external
command, then ffmpeg.exe cannot have been in the folder he drilled down
to, it wasn't
anything to do with the syntax of the rest of the command line, the file
simply wasn't there.
Praise be unto Vangelis for his continued magnificent efforts.Much
appreciated.
