Stripping out stuff in filenames.

I use GiP to get radio programmes to listen to from my phone whilst 
driving. I often get filenames like this 
"Radcliffe_and_Maconie_-_Richard_Osman_and_Alexander_Armstrong_b06djgf4_default.m4a, 
far too long for my phone screen. Is there a way to strip out the 
"_b06djgf4_default." part, either as a global thing or as part of the 
command? I use GiP on Linux using the cli.
