Vangelis, for a non-native English speaker, your English is impeccable!
Probably a lot better than the average Brit!!

While "gory" means "bloody", it is not an insult aimed at you rather an
indication of an explicit, rather deep or complex explanation. 

Of course with your excellent command of English, you probably already knew
this and were just pulling our legs to use another idiom.
