Problems with colons in searches

Thank you all for your responses. I understand that the search is not
matching programmes. I was able to get matches manually from the
command line using the "episode" field.

I guess I wasn't explicit enough about my question which is.... why is
the PVR "Add Series" option not generating a PVR file which finds the
programmes from which it is generated? Is there a difference between
the PVR meta-data and that used in command line searches?
