Always reply to the list address (get_iplayer at lists.infradead.org), not
to the poster. That way you'll be most likely to get the right answer!
I'm posting this reply to you *and* to the list, so your question should
be seen there too.
I'm afraid I can't answer that question because I never use PIDS, but
you might investigate --pid-recursive which *might* do what you need.
If you clarify your original question by posting again to the list, you
should get an answer from 'dinkypumpkin' who actually maintains
get_iplayer and I see has already replied.
