get_iplayer hangs after 'Started writing to temp file.'

Hi:
I just installed the jon-hedgerows ppa on Ubuntu 10.04.
Get_iplayer hangs immediately after 'Started writing to temp file':

At this point, ie after killing get_iplayer, output directory contains:
Bells_on_Sunday_-_20_01_2013_b01pz58l_default.jpg
Bells_on_Sunday_-_20_01_2013_b01pz58l_default.m4a
Bells_on_Sunday_-_20_01_2013_b01pz58l_default-temp-68836.m4a
