Ability to specify a temporary directory.

Obvious question: Why not download each day's programmes to a 
non-networked drive, do the processing there, and copy the processed 
files as a block to the networked drive at the end of the day, before 
deleting the originals?

It even provides a safety net, for when the network is unexpectedly down.
