I would suggest keeping things separate by removing the package with yum 
and then dropping the get_iplayer script into /usr/local/bin or some 
other convenient place in $PATH.  If you want do download podcasts 
you'll need to install the podcast plugin as well.  If you remove the 
package version and install your own, you should then be able to run 
"get_iplayer --plugins-update" to grab the plugin.  The Fedora package 
version doesn't permit that, so in that case you would need to download 
the plugin and drop it in ~/.get_iplayer/plugins.  Finally, if you need 
live TV to work properly, you'll need the Git HEAD version of get_iplayer.
