Now you're getting technical; talking about cronjobs and sending myself
emails! - I'm not adverse to using the command line and a bit of
scripting generally but I haven't quite found out how that all works yet
in relation to Get_iPlayer and I rely on the Web PVR Manager interface
at the moment. Any useful resources out there that describe how to do this?

I can't imagine how you get the list of programmes down to about 30, but
I guess with all those category exclusions it helps. My list of circa
250 is fine for me in the Web PVR Manager interface, it can show up to
400 programmes per page so all I do is scroll through the list and
occasionally type something like "films" into the category box to
specifically find the films.

I'm glad you found my programmes exclusions list useful, everyone will
of course develop their own preferences for that and it's just a matter
of adding anything new (and not wanted) that turns up to the ever
expanding list.

Re category exclusions, I'm not sure I want to use these for fear of
missing something that might come up. I already have removed most of the
kids stuff by excluding CBBC and CBeeebies via the Channels list, but if
say BBC one day decides to reshow something like 'Magic Roundabout',
which I'd quite like to see again, then by excluding the 'Children's' or
'Pre-School' categories then maybe I'd miss it? Also maybe it might
mutually exclude something like a kid's film (categorised under
Children's and Films) that I might want to see? (I'm not sure if that's
actually the case, I'd have to test to see).

Many thanks.
