How go I get get_iplayer working again after restoring my PC?

(Apologies for having to use a reply to a previous post - I can't seem to 
initiate a new post without a Suspicious Headers Moderator Approval 
response. Why?)

Some may remember that I had a problem with specific files appearing to 
download normally, but leaving only an empty file envelope on the 
destination drive.

It had me puzzled for quite a while, until I discovered that my inclusion of 
the whitespace command was the problem. Removing it (and allowing iPlayer to 
name the files with underscores etc) solved the issue, which arose only on 
some BBC TV downloads.

Has anyone else noticed this, or can anyone suggest the reason for the 
problem?
