trouble downloading

Hi Alan

if you have windows, then download v2.3 or rtmpdump, and extract the 
contents into the 2.2d folder under Get_Iplayer.

even after upgrading get_iplayer to 2.79 I still have trouble all the time

I notice that 2.79 still uses rumpty dumpty file 2.2d - would updating that
make a difference - if so, how to do it?
and can someone point me to where I can learn all the basic commands - I've
been using get_iplayer for ages but never do anything but --get program
