Doesn't seem to fix it for me unfortunately.

I just tried the latest get_iplayer version from git  dated 4th Jan 2011  (but still labelled as ver. 2.78)
and it's still giving me the same RTMP packet header error.

I even made sure I was running the right thing by calling the new 
version something else and it definitely still fails when run.
