its mentioned in the other threads that the BBC have now changed the URL.
theres a new thread, [PATCH] updated url for bbc flash player, added --swfurl from dinkypunpkin that fixes this.
open the link on that post and download the get_iplayer code as a txt file. save the current get_iplayer.pl in the get_iplayer directory as something else. save the new get_iplayer file as get_iplayer.pl and it works brilliantly.
