When I renamed the test1.mp4 file with a .m4a extension it plays OK on
the Marantz. The file has to have a .m4a extension, it doesn't recognise
a .mp4 extension. 

I realised there was no video although my OS (Ubuntu) calls it a MPEG-4
video file type. Apologies. I should have thought to rename the
extension.

The second file test1a.m4a plays OK on the Marantz.
