Yes, it would be helpful to bundle all the recent bug fixes up into a
proper release, but right now it won't be accepted in Debian (and thus
Ubuntu, because it's a directly-synced package) while we are frozen.

Therefore, if there are things broken in the Ubuntu package and you have a
minimal patch for them, please report them to the Debian bug tracker [1]  so
I can cherry-pick the patches and get freeze exceptions for them. They'll
flow through into Ubuntu after a short delay this way.
