/var/log/dmesg has kernel output
/var/log/messages has the syslog output, including a dump of dmseg after
boot

I don't know where the [ OK ] and [ FAILED ] messages go, if anywhere.

OK, I got my USB stick thingy to mount. The problem was syntax. I had
written "users.noauto" instead of "users, noauto" Here is some output
from the terminal:

I didn't copy the whole dmesg, but picked out some of the interesting
bits. I don't want to overload with info as I am not sure what to look
for. I hope someone gets something out of this.

BTW, it seems like Firewire isn't working properly. Hardware browser
doesn't seem to pick up my external Firewire drive. I haven't created
any mount points, but then I can't do that before I know where the drive
is located on the system.

Cheers,

Brian
