This looks like a bug indeed.
Rafał, do you have hw to check this?

 			buf[i] = (CORDIC_CONVERT(sample.i * max) & 0xFF) << 8;
 			buf[i] |= CORDIC_CONVERT(sample.q * max) & 0xFF;
