general question about AR7010 arch.

Hi all,

do i understand correctly - AR7010 is generally a MIPS CPU?
AR5523 is R4000 MIPS. How about AR9170 and other usb controllers?
If it is true, are there any good reason to develop separate firmware 
for each of them?
