I've implemented this, will send the patch along with other patches
which I did today, while setting up my own Aiaiai e-mail front-end
system.

I've decided to simply not implement the --upstream so far. Because
there are no users of this now, so why bother? And less things to get
wrong. E.g., we may find out that --upstream was a bad name.
